EXPO Chicago

The Conservation Center is the conservation sponsor for The International Exposition of Contemporary/Modern Art and Design that will be held on September 20-23, 2012. The five-day event at Navy Pier’s Festival Hall will establish Chicago as a preeminent art fair location and cultural destination. Throughout the event, The Center will have a booth on-site with conservators working on pieces as they would in our laboratory. The booth will be staffed with experts to field questions and handle “art emergencies” arising throughout the fair as the behind the scenes conservators and framing experts.

Under the leadership of President and Director of Art Expositions, Tony Karman, EXPO Chicago will feature 100 international contemporary and modern art dealers. The fall art season will open amidst an innovational interior environment by Studio Gang Architects inviting spectators in from around the globe. In addition to the exciting event, art enthusiasts and socialites will attend the exclusive Vernissage preview celebration benefiting the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Visit the EXPO Chicago website for more information and the international galleries that will be participating in the occasion. We hope you plan to attend this September 2012!
